Help! My wife is feeding me dog food!

We went to the cupboard and found it was bare...

My wife Sue asked me what I wanted to eat. I said there isn't anything to eat. She said I know.

A little while later she called me to the table and had a lovely meal prepared with excellent presentation.

After we finished our delicious chicken Parmesan, I commented that I thought we didn't have anything to make.

Sue said that we didn't have any food. This was Benjy's chicken!

Well hopefully that brand of dog food is prepared in a plant rated for human consumption. Dogs can digest all kinds of bacteria that humans would have a difficult time with. If not, you have my sympathies. Post again in a few days so we know you are still alive and well. lol

I often cook a pork roast to use for training treats. I'll feed Dave one end of the dogs' left-overs for his dinner!

I was digging in my freezer one night recently and came across a nice package of frozen chicken breasts that I keep for those times when Cassie has to go on a boiled chicken and rice diet...almost pulled them out for some chicken parmesan too, but decided I would rather be prepared in case she needed them more than we humans did...did give me a taste for chicken!

We use chicken and sweet potato for upset tummies, but I cook it up and freeze it cooked, so in an emergency, all I need to do is thaw and serve!

Good suggestion re keeping the boiled chicken frozen in bite sized pieces. And in a pinch, you can always divert a piece or two on to the dinner table. In fact, I think I spotted some recently in a nacho dip someone in our household recently prepared. Whose chicken was that now I wonder...

(Actually, I was assured after the fact that the chicken did not come from any of Cassie's stockpile, but acquired from another source)

Lol!

I try not to buy meat for the humans in the house so we can eat more veggies instead but have "borrowed" frozen chicken and fish that belongs to Teddy a number of times!
He usually tries to help our "healthier" eating plan by following me around (and giving me angry stares) the entire time whilst I'm cooking and eating) any meat or canned fish that he saw me take out of his shelf in the store or his section in the freezer (which is like 90% of the freezer)...

The dog eats better food than his humans and he knows it!

One of the many reasons I love using "people food" as training treats or bait. Snack for the dog, snack for me (and God knows show days can get L O N G and show food is $$$)

I'm still alive and kickin' !!

Sue buys boneless, skinless, chicken breast fillets for Benjy. She boils them so there is no grease, seasoning, or fat added. Then she slices it into chunks that are a one day allowance. She puts each day in a mini snack pack sealable bag and freezes them. Then she takes a pack out every day for Benjy! And she cops it more.

Benjy LOVES sweet potatoes. She is going to try freezing serving size bags of those too.

Sue used two packs of Benjy's chicken to make our dinner. Benjy didn't seem to mind since we still had a pack for him too. But we make sure we don't give him so much goodies that he won't eat his kibbles.

Benjy is smelling the spring flowers Sue and I planted last fall. He is so sensitive you know.
