Naming My Havanese!!

My family and I are getting a Havanese in the near future. I am soooo excited and can't stop thinking about it! We are currently looking at two different breeders so the puppy will either be an apricot or a sable Havanese. We are trying to decide on a name; I've created a poll so you guys can possibly help me narrow it down or let me know what you think? Did you solidify what name you wanted before or after getting your puppy?

Havanese Day!

We made a list of names and chose the only one that could be agreed upon by everyone in that family. Luckily that name was unisex so it didn't matter if we chose a boy or girl.

I considered Kiwi as well, so I voted for that one. Congrats on your new furbaby, whichever one you end up choosing!

How old is your puppy? You might want to get a feel for puppy's personality or something distinctive in his or her markings or maybe puppy has a little quirk that fits with a name. If the pups are still really young you might want to wait till they are older and show more of who they are.

Hello! Thanks for your reply. That's a really good point - I was thinking of narrowing it down and seeing if any of them "fit" if you know what I mean I'm going to visit this weekend, they are about 5 weeks old so I may not even know at this point!

Yup, I remember mine at five weeks. They are definitely developing into their own, but mine really didn't show who they were completely at that stage. Having said that our breeders was able to give up insight into how they were in relation to their brothers and sisters. They knew which ones were bossy and which ones were submissive and which ones were more vocal that sort of thing. It will help to talk to them.

Sorry I should have asked this in my last reply, but I forgot. I noticed you are in Vancouver, are you looking at pups in the Vancouver area? I know of a few breeders in B.C. and have met some people who live here in Alberta who got their Havs in B.C. There seems to be a lot more breeders in B.C. than here in our province.

Hi! I'm actually in Victoria, so I am looking for pups on Vancouver Island as opposed to Vancouver itself. It's true, I have found quite a few breeders here in B.C.

If you like Koopa, did you consider Cooper?
