Back from Our May Camping Trip

Just got back from a 10 day camping trip at one of our state parks. I have to say that Willow is a great camping dog. She's seems to be a little whiny on the very first night but after that she is great. Except for the grooming! I had her cut a little shorter before we left but she is still in a longer coat. I also get lazy in combing her out everyday when we are camping. Seems to be only about every 3 days that I get to it. Oh my did she have a lot of mats when I got home. She goes to the groomer tomorrow but I'm going to try and get her comb out some more today. Everyday since we have been home it seems I find more mats!

We had pretty good weather but fishing was lousy. The lake was really high and muddy from runoff.

I know I'm way behind on everyone's posts and I bet there are a lot of new members. I hope I didn't miss too much but I'll try and go through the older posts and get caught up soon. I had almost 300 emails (mostly junk) that I'm still going through.

It's good to be home!

Glad you had a nice time, and that Willow enjoyed it, too. (Though not the brush-out!)

Where did you go camping? We just got back from Ft Worden, we took Harley and Jade and they did great! It was their first time camping. We did lots of walking and boy were they tired.
We also had to comb them out due to them getting sticky things in their coat. Luckily it went good.

Hugs, Jade, Harley, April and John. In our hearts, Kona

I'm terrible at taking pictures! Brought my camera too but not a single picture was taken. Next time! We went to Pearrygin Lake State Park which is in the Winthrop area of our state. It's just over the North Cascade Pass from us and is usually a 3 hour drive. Unfortunately the pass is late opening up from all the snow we had this year, so we had to take another mountain pass which makes it almost a 6 hour drive.

Willow went to the groomer today, and she said that there really were not that many mats. I worked for 3 days though combing her before the groomer. It's like cleaning the house before a house cleaner comes!
