Promising news!

How sad that the Pet Central manager doesn't realize he could make a steady profit by selling pet supplies, not live pets. Maybe someone should explain the concept of 'meet your local rescue' or 'adoption day' events to him.

I didn't even know that there were pet stores in San Francisco that sold puppies. I am surprised. The only one I know close by is in Daly City.

Thumbs up

Hi again, Julia., The news on tv mentioned that there was only one place that sold dogs. San Fran. must be ahead of everyone else when it comes to getting rid of the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores. Geeze in Kitchener Waterloo a city of 350,000 only, there must be ten. Good for San Fran.

This from that article you just linked, Dave......... ""The fact of the matter is that puppies sold by pet stores frequently come from highly reputable breeders who provide healthy loving pets to the public," said Michael Maddox, vice president of government affairs and general counsel for the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, an industry group based in Washington, D.C. "Notwithstanding isolated anecdotal stories that misrepresent pet store puppies, the vast majority of customers who bring home their canine companion from a pet store are supremely satisfied with the experience." "

HA!!! Notice he's from the Pet Industry.... not pet welfare, but the business of pets. Then there's the same kind of drivel from the owner of Le Petit Puppy in New York City. They're worried that if these bans take effect, there wouldn't be enough puppies for all those buyers out there. It's called GOING TO A SHELTER, idiots........ ! ugh.. don't get me started....... !
