Red face Getting a Hav Puppy to eat

So apparently over my parents house Giz usually doesn't like to eat much....UNLESS....my dad pretends to start eating her food then she pounces and eats as much as she can :-P

Anyone else have that happen.

That is funny...but no..never had that. Kipling doesn't eat unless he's sure he's not getting something more yummy like a taste of people food and I know we've already had that discussion about how bad it is. Gizmo may well be hoping for something better. A small sprinkle of parmesan on Kipling's food motivates him.

Well she seems to like to play Keep away with my dad. When he so much as reaches for a toy she lunges and grabs it then either hides or lays on it. Yesterday she piled them up next to my mom and then layed on top of them

Apparently our old family dog Fifi used to do the same thing to him

I know she loves him because she likes to curl up next to him and lay her head on his lap...when shes not trying to get in his pockets. LOL

I tried that with this dry flacky treat thing she had. It said a great topping for food, but then I noticed she would pull out every piece lick it off and then spit out the dry food! Only did that once

Gizmo needs a Hav friend! My boy was a terrible eater before we got him a playmate. Now he licks the plate clean! It's all about the competition.

Huggie usually eats his right away. Maybe Gizmo doesn't like his food. Sometimes I add a dollop of plain Greek yogurt on top. Then H really scarfs it down! Or....just give him 20 minutes and take it away if he still hasn't eaten. He may just not be hungry.

Rosie eats one piece of kibble at a time unless Josie Wales is trying to eat with her. Then she cleans the bowl immediately. My mother had a saying about how much we would eat at family gatherings. She said, " you can't fatten one hog by itself."

I would love to see a video of your dad pretending to eat Gizmo's food. That is so funny. He sounds like a great dad.

It seems like Lilly doesn't eat nearly enough, but judging from what comes out the other end she seems to be doing fine.
