Orlando Show - Toy Dog Club of Central Florida

Does anyone have any information about the Toy Dog Club of Central Florida's show in Orlando? Weblink? Schedule of events?

And can anyone advise me on dog show etiquette? For exampel, Can dogs that are not showing come along? What to wear? Anything else imporant?

Hi Kristy,
While I don't have information on the Orlando show, I did want to let you know that dogs not entered are not suppose to be on the show grounds. If the club sponsoring the show is having any health clinics then typically it isn't an issue as you can say you brought your dog for the testing. However, dogs that wouldn't behave ringside are a no-no as it can be disruptive to the other dogs in the show ring.

Out here in California the common attire if you are not showing but only a spectator would be casual wear.

Thank you for this information. I especially appreciate the education on how dog shows work. Being new to the world of dog shows (other than watching on TV on Thanksgiving) I am reliant on the experience of more veteran individuals. Please keep the tips coming my way.

Will anyone be attending that I might be able to meet there?

Wish I could go! Dress casually and bring a chair if you plan to stay for a while. Some shows have chairs and some don't. Also bring some $$$ as there should be vendors and you'll get a chance to see some cool stuff.

I'm really hoping to go. My husband is working and won't be able to join me. I'm hoping I can convince my folks to puppy sit for a few hours (they usually don't mind). I'm assuming that a camera would be good to have along as well - especially after seeing photos from the National Specialty!

It was such a pleasure to meet everyone at the Toy Dog Club of Central Florida's Show today. Willow loved meeting the other Havanese and their families. I think Bella was jealous that she didn't get to go because she sniffed both of us for quite some time after we got home. It was our first dog show ever and we had a blast. There were so many beautiful and handsome havanese, I couldn't wait to get home and show Sam and Bella the photos. Thank you so much to everyone who explained how things worked, what was going on in the show ring.

I am especially grateful to the member of the Mid Florida Havanese Club for inviting me to come to the event and for welcoming me to their community. Willow and Bella are already daydreaming what they might dress up as for the October meeting!

Now I am looking forward to my first agility event!!! Those of you that are involved - please let me know when there are events so I can put them on our calendar!!!

Kristy-Next year the National is in NC so you can come to that too! And so can you Natalie!!!

I'm still new to the dog show world but I have such a good time just talking to everyone, looking at the beautiful dogs.

Oh I wish I had seen this before the show. Sorry I have a sinus infection that has kept me away. We had a wonderful time at the show. I too am new to showing. Are you going to the Deland show? It is the end of Sept.

Blessings, Luna and the girls
