Biscuits/Cookies

What type of Biscuits/Cookies does everyone like to give their Hav's?? I'm sure this is an old topic but I guess since there was a poll for dog food preferences then it might be a good idea for one on biscuits.

Does it matter what type? Where it's made? What Brand and Ingredients? Hav's can't choose the type in the store for themselves so it's left to us Humans... to do it for them.

Radar's not very picky and will often eat anyything that moves..... There is always a new type out there with some trendy ingredient in it to entice the more health consience Hav consumer and I'm sure that someone has knowledge of a new Cookie, Flavour, Brand that either they or a Vet or Breeder has recommended and I'm sure that there are others that we have just stumbled upon while in the Pet Store because if you are anything like me you really like to spen the entire day looking for the next best thing for your Hav because we all look for the initial reaction when we first give our little Hav's a new item and we all stand there with the Digi-Cam just waiting to snap the Pic for this Forum.

Thanks

I wish Gucci liked cookies! The only treats she'll eat are cheddar cheese or dog jerky. There is one ebay seller that sells really good organic jerky, all flavors, chicken, duck, beef, rabbit, etc.

I have wasted SOO much money on cookies/treats that she won't touch. My neighbor has really made out! lol I keep giving the treats to them! lol

I have been very lucky that I seem to have the least picky Havanese in the world. She will eat anything and everything I give to her. I love to go to the local dog shops that get in the baked items that are fresh made. Also, the item that I get and use for "cookies" for all my dogs is the t/d food from the vet. It is made to remove tarter from teeth and my dogs like it a lot. I get the larger size and use it for treats rather than everyday food. They like them and it cleans their teeth.

Kara (Guc's mom)

How much does she weigh now and how old? Everytime you write about her,it sounds so much like my Beamer. I think they are around the same size to.. beamer is 4 months today and 3.8 pounds. How much does she eat a day do you think?? Beamer is not big on treats either. Hotdog is the only thing he seems to LOVE... kinda funny though.. hotdog is prolly the closest human food to dogfood.. hahahah

haha...Capote is like Mirabel. If you give it to him he'll eat it..and then want more of anything else he can find. I try to be conservative with his treats. If I'm teaching him something I only give him these bite size lil nibble things..they work well. I get them in a lil canister at petsmart..they're by natures choice (all natural) My mom got some pro plan biscuits for him once and he LOVED them, so I give him those, and I just bought him some chicken jerky. The only problem with that is that when I give him one I have to break off a piece for the cat..lol..

..oh and how can we forget bully sticks.. he loves those as well..

Nico LOVES Pro Plan biscuits. He gets half a biscuit at a time and he treats it like prey - first it must be conquered and subdued, batted around the floor and pounced upon multiple times, and then he gobbles it up. He also likes the Kong liver snaps that we occasionally put in his Puppy Kong toy. The non-biscuit treats we've tried that he likes are Authority liver treats (he got them at puppy kindergarten) and Kong puppy paste. We also tried Charlee Bears and freeze dried liver, but he didn't like them at all.

She's 24 weeks, and I'm I think her weight is around 6 lbs, as I had to weigh her in the Sherpa Bag the other day and then weigh the Sherpa bag! lol, It is about 5.8 lbs...maybe a little less because her collar is kinda heavy. She really hasn't grown at all since her last vet visit, she had a big growing spurt between 3-5 months and just slowed way down, because her appetite slowed down.

I'm expecting her to be around 8-9 full grown, if her parents are a good indication.

Gucci is so funny with treats, the bank tellers tried to give her a biscuit the other day and so did the trainer at Petsmart, and she flipped her nose up and walked off! Picky picky picky!

How big are Beamer's parents?

Kara

Sam loves "Nutro Max" puppy biscuits. Even though they are small I still break them in to four pieces. I don't want him to get "fat". I still give him a treat every time he comes when I call.
