Well, you need a dehydrator, but they are pretty cheap:

This is the one I use, and I actually share it with another dog friend, as neither one of us needs it all the time! There are MUCH fancier ones, but this one works fine for my purposes.

You just slice whatever you want to dehydrate thin, place it in the dehydrator and wait until it's dry. There is a booklet with it with suggested drying times. You CAN dehydrate raw meat, but it goes faster and keeps fresher if you dehydrate roasted meat, as some of the water had already been cooked out that way.

I also dehydrate sliced sweet potato and lots of fruits for the dogs.

Even WITH the cost of the dehydrator, you've paid for your total cost by the time you load it up the third time.
