Strange behaviors

I was taking Oliver for a walk and met another hav--Linus. I was talking with the owner about food and treats. Linus eats anything and everything! However if it is put in a metal bowl he won't touch it. He will back away and bark at it. They swear it is true.
I've never heard such a thing.

Maybe Linus see's his reflection and it may startle him - who knows, but Oreo did not like his metal bowl intially either - he was all scared of it...

He is this BIG BOLD barker at large dominant dogs but when it comes to strange metal bowls, he shrinks and hides... gotta love these "tough" little guys LOL

My former co-worker had the same problem with the collapsible bowls (travel bowls) with her Chihuahua. He would refuse water or food out of it no matter how hot or how long it had been since he had eaten or had a drink.

I guess dogs are similar to people in that some just have strange quirks.

I wonder if they had a metal bowl out in the sun, they can get very hot. He may have hurt himself on one????

Funny thing you should mention that...I have wondered if Gucci just started disliking her silver bowl, I had a ceramic bowl before that she accidently moved and it made a terrible sound on the ceramic floor, and then, the was *scared* of it. I have plastic bowls at the office, which she'll use.

But I washed her bowls today and used a houseplate for her food and she actually ATE! lol, but she didn't eat yesterday, so who knows!? She was due. Its hard to figure them out when they can't tell us what is bothering them.

Sally, I wonder if Linus wears metal tags on his collar. If he does, the sound of them clanking against the metal bowl might bother him or scare him.

Lincoln will no longer walk over those metal high voltage grates in the sidewalk - once, he went over a loose one and it made a loud banging kind of sound (as well as it shifted). He stops and digs his heels in. There is one street that has 4 of them, so I can't go on that street anymore

Lily is the same with the raised metal bowls. I think it is because her tags knock into it and it spooks her!!
