They definitely can act a little "off" when they are in heat, and not wanting to eat here and there is pretty common. She should definitely be drinking and peeing, though. If she's not doing those, I'd have the vet give her a look, just to make sure there isn't something else going on.
just remember that when they act perkier, and are not bleeding is when they are MOST fertile and receptive to mating. So make SURE she is away from all boys for at least 21 days from the first day of bleeding.
