I think I just had a heart-attack....

So, I let the puppies out on the back patio to play, and a few of my older Havs followed them out there. The patio is closed off w/an xpen so the babies don't have free access to the whole backyard.
I came in because the phone rang- I was on the phone for about 25 min. I hang up the phone, and look outside to see Heidi in the middle of our above ground pool- on the solar cover but submurged to where I could only see her head......
She somehow pushed the xpen away from behind a cabinet we have on the patio, and the pooldeck gate was left open accidently...there was a ball on the pool cover that one of the kids accidently tossed on there so I think she was going after the ball.
My heart sank and I rushed out there....I was able to pull the pool cover over and lift her out of the water.....I was ready to cry!! My baby!!
Lesson learned, accidents can happen in a moment. It's my fault for coming in when the phone rang. It is going to take me a while to get over the thought of almost losing my Havabrat......

Paws.....and reflect on what life has given you~

OMG, I can imagine your terror. I know how it feels when one of our babies is in danger. I gasped when I read it. Thank God it had a happy ending.

I think most of us have had a close call with our fur babies. You always feel so terrible afterwards. I am glad she is okay. Your post is a good reminder for all of us to be more vigilant.

Oh dear! That must of scared the crap out of you! I was frightened just reading it! You hear stories, but never think it's gonna happen to you.

I'm thrilled to read Heidi is okay and you did it Katie! (where is a rescue hero smilie when you need one?) I'll use this--

It happens to everyone don't feel bad...when I found out that something I fed Gizmo was toxic to her I had the same reaction. Now I am SUPER careful!

I am so glad Heidi is okay

So glad to hear everything turned out OK!
Question - Why do you refer to her as Havabrat? Have I already asked this somewhere before and forgotten? I have seen it before and have wondered what the story is.
