It has been an absolute whirlwind of a trip so far. After over 1000 miles in the car (with an overnight with a dog friend halfway through) we made it to Asheville. We laid very low the rest of the day, resting up for the big day.
Yesterday was the day of the agility trials. It was a hot and long day, and it showed. 75% of the runs were NQs (and 75% of ours
). Nino did beautifully in his first open jumpers run. Aside from one off course, his only bobble was on the weaves. MUCH nicer than his first ever open jumpers run. Novice standard run #1 was horrendous. Hopped off the teeter, about 4 different table faults...no good. His second jumpers run was, again, nice. But I forgot the course, so that eliminated any chance of a Q. The good news...Nino got that 3rd standard Q for his NA title. It wasn't a pretty run by any means...but it was enough for him to win Novice High in Trials! I will post video later.
We slept this morning away, and went to watch some obedience followed by trick dog certification. Nino just finished his TKN and TKI! Tomorrow, we test for TKA. We planned on doing all 3 today, but little man got very distracted by the people setting up for conformation tomorrow.
So thus far, we've gotten 3 new titles and 5 ribbons at the national. Not bad
