Pulling the trigger

After a lot of consideration and jokes Hubby and I will likely contact our breeder and place ourselves on the wait list this weekend. Just typing this is giving me that fluttery feeling I had when I discovered I was expecting my human baby LOL. We have been attending a small dog meetup and Chi Chi has no issues with sharing me with her little friends. As for the other kinks, here's what we worked out:

Double expenses: We can handle the food (Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried supplemented with their raw coated kibble). We are going suck it up one month and pay insurance premium annually vs. monthly. An account for routine vet bills and training will be set up which we will contribute to monthly.

Training: We will alternate between group, private and Fenzi online classes. Expensive, but no way around it. I can't do 2 classes in one night. Even if they never compete, I just love working with Chi Chi and having a good mannered dog (most of the time ). Worth a few fancy dinners to me.

I really am glad I have two. I get twice the laughter daily and the time spent with doggies is not doubled, more like 30% more to give time to the individual dogs. They are completely different dogs so my house is enriched by canine variety.

It's exciting, huh? I have been in talks with a few breeders since early summer, and one of the litters I am looking into is happening within the next few months. I got excited butterflies when the breeder made the Facebook post regarding it!

Sophie, Mario, and Nino.

I'm excited for you! We love having two. Scout and Truffles have totally different personalities. Scout quiet and sweet. Truffles the grumpy girl wild child. They get along perfectly and are always together. Great idea to set up an account for vet bills with two. I didn't know if pet insurance was a good idea, but thankful we did get it.

That's comforting. I forget, how far apart in age are Scout and Truffles?..Duh, never mind, I see it now

We had our first Havanese Sparky when we got Scout. Scout was 1.5 years old when Sparky passed. We could tell Scout was sad not having a playmate. Scout is 2 years and seven months older than Truffles. Even though Truffles is smaller she has been the more dominant one from day one. 😊 They are the perfect pair! You will have so much fun with two!

I am so looking forward to it.Chi Chi will turn 2 in November so we are in a similar situation. Chi Chi is kinda dominant too. We are hoping for a male that will tolerate her bossy self LOL

I have the same dogs with different coats. My girl is more affectionate though, contrary to Havanese breeder assurances. Rarely do they sleep on my bed and uncrated, but when they do Zoe starts out right next to me and Kosmo jumps off to sleep in front of the door to the room. I think he is guarding us.

Saturday morning relaxing on the sofa. Truffles loves to cuddle with hubby, not me. Scout's not a cuddler. He likes pets and massages. 😊
