She locked herself in the car!!!....

Unfreaking-believable ...

It was the most frightening thing for me, it was such a 'fluke' of an occurance, I was on my way to work and I stopped at the mailbox (which I do all the time) do drop off some mail , and since this particular mail box is was right behind her the Animal Hospital/ her vet's office I had the windows up and the AC on...because she goes into a panic when she smells the vet, and I hit the 'unlock' button to unlock the back seat so I could open the back door and get the mail bin out to walk to the other side of the car and BEFORE I could open the back door of the car, she pounced on the darn LOCK button.......OMG. I was flipping out, some nice guy with the electric company watched the whole thing happen and he was really nice to help me out..

I called the police station and they ONLY unlock running cars if there is a kid or infant it it.....

So he gives me the phone # to "pop a lock" and I begged and pleaded for them to hurry, they said 30-45 minutes, I told them I'd double it if they could cut the time in half..

They did, they got there in about 18 minutes...not bad..., the young guy's face lit up when I gave him a $40 tip, my misfortune is someone else's fortune on this one anyways...but I feel SOOOOOO dumb because I always take precautions against this, I stop at the blue box 2-3 times a week and she usually watches me through the cracked window..

Murphy's law, the one time I don't follow my own rules something bad happens Fortunately, she was fine, i was the frantic one...and I had such high hopes for a good day today, but it started off kinda rocky, at best.

Kara what a nightmare! I would be panicking.

I almost had a heart attack until I realized my being so upset was making her upset thank god it went by quickly.

I had a lil' premonition something was going to happen, too but I didn't listen it. I was thinking on the way there while I was driving, that 'what would I do if something happened to me and everyone was out of town?', since i'm home alone this week, like...who would I call?

Well, I guess I'd call pop a lock...LOL, the guy that works for us thought it was funny, heck.....everyone thought it was funny, except for me and my dh.

How scary! The worse my dog (not Abby) did was stand on the button that moved the seat forward and backward and I would be sitting there moving hearing bzzzzzz! It startled me the first few times but after a while I got used to it.......lol

I hope the rest of your day will be so much better!

I have had that happen before!!!
We stopped at a friends house just a few streets down from my house- I hopped out to talk to her real quick, and left the engine running (it's HOT here!) Paige got excited and hopped on the door handle, pushing the 'lock' button!! YIKES!!
Luckily I was able to call home and hubby brought me his spare key- phew!

You poor thing!!!!! They always laugh at woman when something car related happens...and if your blonde....more jokes. This is serious and could happen to anyone often the air is not on. My aunt did this a few years ago...she called in a panic. I told her to call onstar and they remotely opened the door. Not every one has this she is elderly and not a fast thinker. I am so glad Gucci is not worse for the wear. You on the other hand might have to relax this evening and have a nice glass of wine.

I know EXACTLY how you feel Kara!
The same thing happened to me when I was at Sam's Club getting gas.
I ALWAYS take my keys with me when I get out to pump gas.
However, the dogs distracted me and I left them laying on the seat.
As SOON as I shut the door, Copper locked me out.
The dogs just stared at me...like....why aren't you getting back in the van??
I thought the gas attendant was going to die from laughter.
DH came to the rescue....he also thought it was funny.
Me....not so much.
Thank goodness it wasn't hot out that day!

Renee, Miley, & Copper too!

Oh gosh! I feel a little better that I'm not the ONLY one to do this, and YES...Everyone stopping at or going through the drive thru at Hardee's was pointing and laughing at the blonde who locked herself out of her car.. Everyone thought it was funny as heck, I guess it would be if it happened to someone else.. lol

What are the odds? I tried to coax her to hit ANY of the buttons so I could get back in, she ALWAYS steps on the window buttons and rolls them down but the one time I need her to???...nada..

I may have to train her to punch the lock and unlock key, she goes with me in the car on most of my jaunts.

IF It would've been hot or the pop/lock guy didn't show up, I would've broken a window and my husband would've been mad as heck at me,but if it was that or her overheating...the window would go.

Darned police ...they only rescue 'infants', even though a dog is more likely to accidentally push the gear into drive than an infant

Or so you'd think..

Oh, Little Miss Gucci!! I'm very happy that everything turned out fine. I don't have an Onstar vehicle, but that service is sounding more and more useful-maybe next car.
