Delightful Dogs

I am so proud of my dear delightful dogs.Yesterday we went out for a walk with our grandchildren, and I was in the little playground area with the 3 children, and DH was waiting patiently by the gate with the dogs for us.Well there was a little girl aged about 4 who had experienced a traumatic attack from a Doberman, and was terrified of all dogs, and her parent were worried it was developing into a phobia as she would shake and run away from all types of dogs she met, well anyway whilst Dh was waiting for us some other children were stroking and playing with Dizzie and Nellie[Nellie is 19 weeks]Dh picked Nellie up so the children could get a better look at her, then the little scared girl went over very cautiously with her mother and had a look, then ran away, only to go back a couple of minutes later, then Dh and our grandson who is 6 got Dizzie to do some of his tricks, well the little girl and the other children and their parents who were watching were all enchanted by the tricks and Dizzie's and Nellie's gentle natures,so much so that the frightened little girl gave Nellie tummy rubs!! And one of the other children said Dizzie was the best dog in the world!Dh was so proud! So after that it was down on to the beach and mad RLH in and out of the water. We all got home very tired and wet,but I still had to wash and brush them to get all the sea and sand out of their coats,it was a great afternoon![And you know they have never been to training classes they are just naturally very well behaved dogs when we are out!]

I love that story. Hopefully the little girl who encountered your little angels will move ahead in her life just a little less fearful. What a gift these little ones can be.

That was a great story, Gigi! Sounded like you had such a fun time with the grandchildren and pups. Hopefully, that will be the beginning of healing for the little traumatized girl. A well-behaved dog is such a blessing!
