Loki's Favorite Toy

We finally remembered to purchase Loki's favorite toy for Shama.

It was funny because she mouthed it gently, seemingly unwilling to make it squeak. Barbara, it reminded me of how you said Loki wouldn't chew down on Shama's favorite toy because he was afraid of its squeak!

Here's a link to Shama's favorite toy:

She throws that ball down the stairs to chase it over and over . . .

Anyway, she was interested in the new toy at first, but later she went wild for it. Twice tonight, she ran zoomies around it. Of course she stopped when I got the camera.

Here's some video of her even if it wasn't during a wild moment:

Good recommendation, Barbara!

She looks like she's having a ton of fun. So cute! Thanks for sharing. They are going in the shopping cart.

Ricky had the PIG version of this toy. He loved it, but lasted all of two days before the latex had big holes torn out and the squeaker was dog knows where, probably in the poop! We have not had good luck with latex toys. Ricky got a Christmas present from his Tia last year that she saw advertised on TV......."hours of fun for your dog!" Lasted 10 minutes before it was in pieces. Ricky thinks the only good toy is a dead toy!

Glad Shama likes it. Loki has decided he likes Shama's favorite ball - he just won't pick it up. He pushes it around and makes it squeak with his nose. He has learned that he doesn't have to mouth a toy to make it squeak - his nose works. It is funny to see his bobbing head pushing up and down. He really likes noise now - the more the better. I got him those talking balls. He adores them but I have to put them away when we are home because they drive me crazy.

I would love to see a video of him with the ball! Shama will carry the chicken now, but she won't make it squeak!

Perry is the same way. Any of the plastic or latex (even the ones that are harder plastic - like the bones with the rope through them) get torn up pretty fast. The only ones that last (and even one of those is showing teeth marks) are kongs. We stick with the cloth toys and antlers, the stuffingless cloth ones like the skinneeez in particular because he will still rip and tear and chew on them, but once the feet and ears are gone the rest of it lasts for quite a while (especially when he has more than one to abuse - spreads out the damage).

My Golden Retriever Talley had a large collection of Skineez type toys, mostly gifts from my sister. Many are nearly new because she never liked to squeak, mostly just carried them around with her. So I washed the nearly new ones and gave this absolutely hideous one to Henry recently. It's much bigger than he is and it's got SIXTEEN squeakers. Well I've learned he is a squeaker loving dog. This is definitely one of his favorites now.

Oh my. I have seen the ones with multiple squeakers on amazon, but there is NO WAY I would ever get one of those, it would drive me absolutely out of my mind! Perry likes to squeak his skinneeez when they're new (I put a few new ones out last week and he's have lots of fun making them squeak which bugs me somewhat, but it won't last too long) but his older ones are more for carrying around, throwing up in the air and then chasing them, and chewing on. He loves them!
