Any Howlers out there?

Every now and then Loki lets out a mournful howl. The really strange thing is, he does it when he's carrying this tiny little pinky squeeker pig in his mouth.

Also, when he's really happy to see someone, his "happy bark" has a bit of a howl in it as well.

Just curious if there are any other howlers out there. : )

Rico used to yowl when he chewed a little froggy with a squeaker inside. I don't know why.

Lucy will walk up to people if we're in a loud conversation and try to join in by howling/growling. Folks will think she's mad, but she's just "talking" like we are!

Our whole pack does it sometimes in the mornings in the yard. Pam calls it their "morning singing". They seem to enjoy doing the chorus and all are very happy as soon as they finish.

Tom, that is so cute!

I just visited your website and was so impressed with the way you train your puppies! Wish all puppies would get the start that yours do!

Jack gives a couple of howls of protest when he gets put in his crate. The latest sound he does is rolling his 'arrs'. That happens when he is luring Bazinga into playing with him.

Phoebe is mostly quiet, but barks when the sprinklers come on etc (that's a separate story... she flunked the go to work with daddy test by barking). Used to have an imitation bichon frisee (a mutt that met breed standards in every way) who used to sing along with fire engines. The first time was when we were at an outdoor obedience class. A whole bunch of engines roared by and she let loose with the howling. Everybody was in stitches. She was on another planet for a few minutes. We now live only a few blocks from a fire station, I'm glad Phoebs has no interest in singing along.

I think that Jack's rolling arrs are actually his attempt to imitate Bazinga's purring. They were snuggling together on the couch with me. Bazinga was purring. Jack was 'rrrr gg rrr ggghhh'.

I was hopin' for a howler. no luck. My anatolian who passed way last feb, he used to howl like nobody's business, esp. like fire truck sirens.
He taught my female anatolian how to howl. I'm hopin' she'll teach the little guy how to.
