I am dogsitting for 2 cottons this weekend. They will be moving in with us from Friday through Sunday. I will let you know my thoughts after the weekend

My friend has two cotons and they are both friendly and gentle. They got them from a breeder on the east coast and they breed them to be a little bigger.

Some of the other Form members have said that Cotons are yappier and not as even tempered as Havs but I find the Cotons and Havs to be very similar - I think it mostly depends on the personality of the dog & the training provided by the owner. My Cody is just under 18 pounds, very friendly, outgoing, and laid back. He's not big on running & games of chase (although he does like to wrestle) and thinks the best thing about the dog park are all of the people he can get to pet him. He's been great with my fosters - he does most of the work. I've met Cotons who are very timid, one that will chase a ball forever, and one that was non-stop hyper. For me the only drawback is that they only come in white! Personality-wise I'd have another Coton as quickly as a Hav.
