Real or fake Christmas tree?

Hi all! We are getting ready to decorate for the holidays and I'm just wondering if you all put up artificial or real trees? Coco is 9 months and has not bothered with the artificial tree at my parents house at all. We usually get a real tree but I'm wondering if it might be better to get a fake one this year for our apartment due to the needles dropping, etc. Thanks in advance and happy holidays!

Can't help with whether it should be fake or real. We have to do a tabletop tree to keep Willow out of it and we have a real tree. Most of the needles end up on the table but the ones that fall on the floor don't bother her.

We have both a real and a fake tree (fake in the upper level bonus room, real in the main level living room). Most species used for Christmas trees are mildly irritating or toxic when ingested, so if you are worried about her eating shed needles, I would go the artificial route unless you are able to be hypervigilant with her around the tree. Neither of mine are destructive, nor do they eat non-food items, so we haven't had to put gates around our trees or buy table top trees.

Last year, I worried a lot before Xmas about Cassie and the tree as it would be our first Christmas with Cassie on full house privileges. Before last year, she was still on restricted access to various rooms and our house was full of gates so she wasn't ever in the room with the tree without human supervision. But now with full house freedom and access, she never bothered the tree and didn't even try to steal any of the nativity scene figures which my granddaughters often drag out from under the tree and leave in dog reach! We do, however, have an artifical tree now so no issues re needles. She will still pick random things up off the ground (which is why she contines to be locked up in her gated bathroom if we are out of house for more than 15-20 minutes) but tree doesn't seem to attract her attention.

We use a fake tree because of human allergies. This was how we dealt with the Christmas tree when Kodi was a youngster. The girls have not been quite so persistent about getting into things.

We are doing a live tree this year for the first time in many years. That said we will close off the living room unless we are present and will vacuum dropped needles each day.

Fake tree in sunroom closed off, mine love to chew leaves and pine cones, and I was afraid they would ingest tree parts. They are all under one year of age.

Sweet Shama was VERY respectful of our tree when she was with us for a play date last December...though I understand the caution
