Really big baby canine teeth!

Last week, I took Banjo in to be "fixed"...I can never remember if it's spayed or neutered!! Banjo also had his baby canines as well as permanent (top and bottom), so I wanted the vet to pull them out while he was there.

Lo and behold, all four of his baby canines were huge!!!! They were all over an inch long. The vet saved them for me so that I could see their size. I was told they were more than twice the size they should have been. I didn't get to talk to him to see if this was extremely unusual or not, but I couldn't believe it.

Just curious as to whether any other owners have had their Havs with such huge baby teeth and does this mean anything??

Btw, Banjo was mad at me for leaving him at the vet for 3 days...I didn't want to have to try to keep him quiet while he was healing as I don't use a crate. He was really funny cuz he was so excited to see me but then he was mad at me for leaving him and he couldn't make up his mind which emotion he should be dealing with. This lasted for a couple of days and finally he forgave me. Gotta love him though!!!

Rikky's bottom baby canines did not fall out and we had to have them removed. The vet also showed us how huge they were. He said they would not have fallen out. I was shocked at how long they were. I hope Banjo is healing. It was hard to keep Rikky quiet for a week after his big boy surgery.

Banjo is doing great. In fact, the following weekend, we went tailgating with my daughter and her family, which includes two rambunctious boys...do I need to say more? He tolerated the busy weekend very well and is back to his normal self.

That's great to hear he's back to normal. No, I haven't heard of bigger teeth..

If I would've left Gucci for 3 days at the vet, she would stay pissed at me for a week and probably have at least 3 'accidents' in the house, on the carpet...lol

If I left either of The Fluffs at the vet for three days (or one night, even) they would have convinced someone else to be their new mommy or daddy.

Dexter had one of his "fang" teeth removed and it was very long....the Vet also said it was the longest tooth he had seen and the tooth would not have fallen out.

I am glad to hear everything is back to normal. Neuter=Male Spayed=Female

Glad to hear that Lulu isn't the only one. She has one of her big baby 'fang' teeth still as well as her big girl teeth and I wasn't sure if I needed to have it removed or not. Based on everyone's posts I think I need to take her to the vets to have something done.

Fun Fact: the word "neuter" can apply to males or females. Commonly, we use neuter for males and spay for females, but the specifically correct term for males is castrate. The random, useless things you learn when your significant other is in medicine.
