Ear Infection!

Hello everyone. Ninja has an ear infection that just does not seem to go away. The vet first had me put a solution into his ear but I can't remember the name of it. When that didn't work they made me try to put tri optic into his ear and now they gave me Tresaderm. They said it is only slightly infected and not as bad as it was a couple of weeks ago but he still seems to be itching and now he itches his face as well. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks to all who answer,

Hank had ear infections the first 3 years of his life. I spent boo koos of money and different vets trying to get his ears cleared up. Finally one vet I took him to said cronic ear infections are a sign of food allergies. He was on Bil Jac (that's what the breeder fed her dogs), so we kept him on it. We changed his food to Costco's Kirkland brand for small dogs, and he's never had an ear infection since. That's been 3 years ago. You might check with you vet about changing his food. Hope this helps and good luck. I know we suffer when we see our little guys suffer.

Poor lil' one. We havent had any ear infections, but I have also heard about food playing a factor, especially yeast derived infections...

I would look into a probiotic supplement, they are good for them anyways..
