HELP!

After her bath tonight Butterscotch went into are parrots room and took one of his egg biscuit vitamin chews and ate half without us knowing. The chew contains many vitamins including vitamin D which I heard was toxic for dogs. I am so worried for my baby that my hands shake as I write this. She seems tired but thats also because she had a bath tonight. Other than that she seems pretty normal, please give me advice!

How much vitamin D does the biscuit contain? Did she eat the whole biscuit? If you are worried you can give her some hydrogen peroxide to make her vomit.

If she ate 1/2 and the dosage was 2 of those for a parrot? That's my understanding? I don't think it should be a problem. Of course-this is just my best guess....I think I'd give her water or something to help flush it out of her system and just keep an eye on her.

I would call to ease your mind. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was worried.

Signs of a vitamin toxicity are: Diaherria, limping and lethargy.

I did a quick search and Julia is correct.....if you are sure you can induce vomiting with hydrogen perioxide. Dosage however is unknown.

Thanks! We just called the vet and she said that the amount she ate is very small so she should be A-OK!
