EVOLUTION OF MR BEAR

After our long walk at the Farmer's Market to celebrate Tux's 2nd Birthday, Tux, happily covered in street dust and fun, settled down for a snuggle with his very first and favorite toy (Mr. Bear). It was given to him by his breeder Pamm Tapscott 2 years ago. I couldn't resist showing the effects of too much love. The first photo is Tux and Mr. Bear at 3 months of age. The 2nd and 3rd are two years later.

I do love Tux. It's sweet he holds on to his first toy. And I think Mr. Bear, despite his obvious wear and tear, is holding up pretty well after 2 years of intense Havanese love.

Really cute.

This could be a good thread full of cute photos. I'll have to get locate some Shama and blue elephant photos to post. Wait a second, I already did! The photos in the thread below show her with her elephant at two and a half weeks, 10 weeks, and two years five months.

Does anyone else have new toy with puppy then old toy with dog photos to post?

I remembered your post and had fun watching the elephant attack again. The elephant seemed to magically shrink from the first baby photo. What a comparison! Don't you wish you could have all that energy? More evolutionary toy photos would be fun. Let's hope we get more.

Ollie had a hedgehog. It is still his buddy. We are now on hedgehog number 5. The others just couldn't be put back together anymore, so when one is beyond help we buy another. He seems to be ok with that. First picture he was just home for a few days, second picture a little older and third he is all grown up and still has his buddy. That guy has no ears left and you can see the feet are all chewed up and the hair is pretty scraggly. It had been stitched many times at that point. That one is no longer with us and he has another.

Isn't it amazing how attached they get to their first toys?!?! Pixel still sleeps with the "Purple Monkey" she came home with EVERY NIGHT... and woe betide the other dog who even LOOKS at Purple Monkey. I admit I took Kodi's toy, a big pink stuffed lamb, away when he started getting rough with it... He loved it TOO much, and it held too many memories for me. Every time I tried to offer it back to him, he got so excited, he started to tear it up again. What can I say? He's a "rough lover".

Interestingly, Panda's breeder didn't send her home with a stuffed toy, and she has never developed that strong attachment for any one toy. Not sure whether that's good or bad, but it's interesting!

Molly is attached to a stuffed squirrel. I have had to sew it so many times when she rips it open. It is disgustingly dirty but I fear it will fall apart if I try to wash it. She has multiple other squirrels I have tried but they do not interest her like the original. I only wished I had purchased more of them when I had the chance. It has lasted over four years so far so hopefully it will hold up for many more. Even if she is not playing with it you can see that it is always close by.
