Jerry's dental work is done YAY

And he is home where he belongs. He is quite restless which I attribute to all the meds, anesthetic and etc. but he doesn't seem to be in any pain. He ended up losing all of his incisors top and bottom, both top canines and most of the rest of the teeth on the upper left so there was a bit more damage than the vet and I expected. The vet said his tongue will probably hang out of his mouth full time, due to no teeth to hold it in, but if that happens he will be as cute as ever in my eyes. We are just happy to have this over and done.

Poor Jerry but glad it's all safely over and he's home. They do recover surprisingly fast.

Glad to hear he's home and that his dental work is behind him. One of the techs at our vet clinic said the dog she rescued ended up having all of his teeth pulled but still lived a long, happy life. Welcome home, Jerry! You are loved!

Very happy for you and Jerry. You make me feel churlish for worrying about not being able to maintain my pups' long hair. I wish you and Jerry my warmest regards.

My little man is back to his sweet normal self, actually better than his normal self, less clingy and more independent. He acts more like a dog than he has since we adopted. And best of all his breath doesn't stink any more! His pre-op blood work showed some elevated liver and gobulin values that the vet believes is due to all the nasty mouth bacteria. We are expecting the values back to normal when we recheck in 6 weeks but this was a real lesson on the importance of good dental care!
