Update about hypersensitve boy

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would post an update about my boy; Boston. I am very happy to report that there have been some awesome breakthroughs with my boy. I am now able to pick him up and put him on the bed, couch etc. He now realizes that nothing bad will happen and loves "his" place on the couch. The first time I tried to take him for a walk was a nightmare, he basically froze and cowered. Fast forward six months and he now enjoys his walks. If he sees a new plant or flower he runs right over to investigate. People in my building did not even know I had a dog because he was so scared of going outside. We are continually working on socializing him and he has gotten a few little furry friends. I am just so happy that he is adjusting to his new home and not cowering under the bed in fear.

Scubagrl, that is wonderful news about Boston, it sounds like you are doing everything right. Was it just a matter of time or were there specific activities that helped?

People like you make the Forum proud. Helping a dog learn that life can be fun, is one of the best gifts you can give back to our canine buddies. It takes a special person to understand and have the patience to make a difference.
