New to the forum

Hello
We are getting two havanese puppies on the 16th of Dec. My wife and I have read up alot on these precious little darlings. One thing I could use some help with is collars and leash's. When I look on Amazon I see lots, and the size's are quite clear but some different style's. What should I be looking for in the harness style.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! You have to be careful when buying collars and harnesses for havanese puppies. The havanese puppies hair will matt from the collars and harnesses, unless you keep them in a puppy cut. They also go through a blowing coat phase and will matt right before your eyes
If you keep them in puppycuts I like:

If you will be keeping them in coat, get a rolled leather dog collar. It will cause less matting. Good luck! Two puppies? Are you nuts?!

I prefer the puppia harnesses, they don't crush on their necks, I would be sure to train with a harness that doesn't put pressure on the neck, they can really hurt themselves pulling when they are puppies,

Congratulations on your new addition! Can't wait to see pictures

I might be a little nuts... but at 54 yrs. old and retired in a small fishing town, I need to keep busy. I used to work with a fellow that did agility training and always found it exciting. This is what I have in mind.
I have lots of space , lots of yard, and lots of time. Thank you for your input. I have so much to learn about caring for a little dog, 17 more days till they come home. We can't wait.............

I think it's a great idea, but I would be pulling my hair out with the housebreaking! Having 2 young pups would be great fun for them too. I'm sure they will be so bonded to each other. Sounds like you have big plans that are exciting!

i tried a harness on Panda and with her coat she matted literally right before my eyes. Her coat requires a slick collar - the silk coats may not need the same consideration..

Welcome. I have no advice on collars, I have not had a problem with any of my dogs matting in the collar area. To means twice the fun.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, I agree harnesses are the way to go. Just be sure to remove it when your puppy is off leash. Can be a choking hazard.
