ACHE is ready for the airplane...

Hi, guys. We are traveling to Puerto Rico, such a nice break for this cold weather. We leave on Tuesday. I just want to say Happy Holidays to everyone. I am sharing some pics: The first one is Ache and her BFF Wekee in training with their carriers and the second one is Ache ready and comfortable in it. I am a little scared because I don't like airplanes and I don't have an idea how Ache is going to react... so let's see how it goes.
Have fun, everyone.

How cute are they? I'm assuming these are carry-on carriers. What are the regulations involved as far as taking a dog in the cabin. ?

Yes, they are carry on. The carrier has to be soft sided and flexible and the sizes varies in each airline. (approx. 17" L X10" H X 16" W ) The dogs have to stay in the carrier under the front seat all the time. We pay $100- each way per dog !!!!! Ache's carrier is a little taller but is very flexible. I hope we don't have any problems...

have some mall people pass some treats through the carrier to her if possible. A little classical conditioning never hurts. Oh yeah, don't forget to have her fav toy and/or a bullystick to chew on.

Have fun on your trip Teresita! How lucky you are to be getting out of this cold! I hope Ache does well, I love that carrier.

Let us know how it goes, I've been too afraid to try flying with Piper. I can't imagine she'd stay calm and quiet the whole time but I'd really love to take a trip with her. Have you practiced taking Ache anywhere in the carrier?

Have a great time!

Thanks, Dave.
Thanks, Julie. I am also afraid but my desire to see my family in PR is way more than the fear. I have taken Ache to the store a couple of times and for the last couple of weeks I am using the carrier instead of the crate. She doesn't sleep in it during the night but stays in it while I am in the kitchen cooking or eating, takes naps and seems to be comfortble in it. I am hoping for the best !

that's a great sign that she's comfortable being in it. You should be fine. Have a great time.

Ache and Wekee look so cute checking out their new carriers! Ache looks so content in there.

Try to relax so Ache doesn't feel your fear. Have a great time visiting your family and getting warm!
