Chicken

Radar goes freakin nutso for chicken I mean downright Crazy Hav man. I had gave him some Chicken Thigh toady and he went totally mad for it even before he had the first peice he could smell it all through the apartment. I sat there and had ripped up a really small peice of the Chicken and Radar would not leave my side of course I wouldn't expect him to. He really enjoyed it......Chicken Hav.....

Anyone else have a Hav that really has a type of meat that they go nuts for or will they simply eat anything they can get their hands or mouth on??

My babies LOVE chicken. I always cook an extra chicken breast when we have it just for them.
Cheese is the other food they go nuts for. All I have to say is the CH sound and they come flying from where ever they are to my side.

Yeah Radar really loves his Chicken. I was thinking about giving him some more exotic meat like Lamb or perhaps something that he hasn't had before. I would imagine that with all the meats that are in Dog Food that there's not a meat out there that they haven't had.

Nico has only had it once, but I've never seen him scarf down anything as quickly as he put away a little piece of stew meat yesterday. I happened to be browning the meat at the same time as my 13 year old was giving him his bath and then blowing him dry. As a treat afterwards I gave him a small piece cut up into little bits, and he went nuts. I'm hoping he associates his bath and blow dry with a meat treat now - I think I'll have a little bit of meat for him after his bath and grooming next week. Anything to make that whole process easier. . .

Gucci loves poultry! Chicken and Turkey!! She especially goes nuts for my husband's grilled turkey breast yummy.

If you really want to watch something funny, give Radar some Chicken Jerky! Gucci has to search for a place to 'bury' it, and it usually gets buried in the FUNNIEST places, like...on the stairs, or on top of a pillow!

And she'll move it several times a day until its time to eat it...around 7pm!

I think all dogs like chicken. However, mine LOVE steak and roast beef. Maybe I should have named them Gucci.

My Bella is becoming a vey picky eater and I don't know what is the best food to give her. She has been on Hills Science WD for a while now but I don't think she likes it anymore. I bought a small can of authority from petsmart last night and mixed it with wd and she loved it. I'm going to ask my vet what she thinks, but I would like to know what are some brands some of you feed your Havs. Bella is 15 months old. She use to like salmon oil on her food and now she doesn't like that either. She has gotten very picky. I've tried everything that I know would be safe for her from scrambled eggs to rice and she doesn't want any of it anymore. The only thing she will eat is pears and chicken jerky. She was put on WD because she had the runs. She is ok this morning from the authority I gave her last night. I would like to know what some of you out there feed your pooches.
Thank You
Pearl and Bella

Cute!! She'll eat steak, too. But not a pork chop, she's too good for that. I should've named her Primadonna or Diva. LOL

My little guy gets Purina Pro Plan kibble, and he mostly eats it dry. He also gets half a hard boiled egg yolk daily. He doesn't eat all of his kibble every day (in fact yesterday he didn't eat either his breakfast or his dinner), but I wouldn't say he's a picky eater. If he doesn't eat his kibble I just take it away - I don't add anything to it or give him something different. He's healthy and of a good weight, so I'm not worried that he'll starve or get sick if he misses a meal or two. So far yesterday was the first day he skipped two consecutive meals, and he gobbled up his kibble this morning - must have been hungry! But he's still a puppy, so maybe he hasn't hit his picky eater stage yet. . .

Brady loves chicken too. He gets boiled chicken with all of his meals, when we go to bed and every time we go out. I boil boneless chicken breasts about every 2 weeks. I use a big pot and boil them for about 45 minutes. I then put the pieces in seperate tupperware and freeze them so we can use them for the 2 weeks or so. I just pull out one at a time and move them to the refrigerator to use them. Brady is very cute! When he sees me getting ready to go out, her goes right into his crate and waits for a piece of chicken. When we goto bed at night, he races into our bed and sits and waits for his chicken. It never grows old on him, he just loves it!

Pearl, you may want to search for the poll that was done regarding what people feed their havs. I used Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul with a little warm water and pieces of chicken mixed in. Brady is a good eater though, and never skips a meal. He has started to get a little picky with treats though.
