I have two draws full of worthless toys, but I leave laying around. Patti picks one up once in a while and will carry it some place but doesn't play with the them.
When anyone comes into the room, she always picks up a toy or anything close by and takes it to them ... I guess it's her present. The other day Patti was on my bed and when I came in the room, she picked up a t-shirt laying on the bed to give me, wagging her tail excitedly. I don't now why she does that, except when she was younger and nipping a lot we were always putting a toy in her mouth.
I found those Kongs to be a big waste of time and money.
TOYS SHE LOVES
Patti does have a couple of things she LOVES! A long snake and long alligator that squeaks. She loves - loves squeaking and playing tug of war with these. She stands on her hind legs as we play tug-of- war, while grabbing and holding on with her front paws, squeaking the heck out of them. So cute and fun. I later figured out one reason she loved those toys is she was humping them. Oh well ... limited humping the alligator or the snake works for me. I had to hide them when she was in heat.
She, also, loves plastic water bottles to play with .... after they're empty of course. :-) I put macaroni noodles in them for noise. As a young puppy I wore out playing fetch before she did. Patti likes to just carry them around and chew the plastic because it makes noise. In addition, to the long alligator and snake ... empty plastic water bottles are the BEST.
She has a small ball she can hold in her mouth which squeaks that we play fetch with.
Patti's 9 months old now and has settled down a lot ... more like an adult dog. She still likes to play fetch but quits quicker than she did when younger.
I can always get her to come when I squeak the alligator. Running like bat-out-of-hell.
