Thunder Shirt - Instant Calming
My baby is an 11-month old female named Patti. She's has settled down a lot but still can be a pest at times, especially in the mornings and evenings, wanting attention, jumping, running, puppy nipping. She gets plenty of exercise with access to a fenced yard where she does sprints.
During these out-of-control periods, I sometimes put her harness on with a short leash to get control and noticed she would settle down on her own.
Patti was spayed last week and I purchased a Thunder Shirt in anticipation I may need it to keep her from bothering the wound, but didn't and was going to return it to the store.
My thinking about why Patti became calmer after putting on her harness was different than my daughters, who thought the harness had a calming effect because of it's pressure points, similar to the Thunder Shirt.
So, I tried the Thunder Shirt during one of her hyperbolic episodes instead of the harness. WOW!! what a instant calming effect it had on her. She loves it. It, also, works for cold days and evenings outside.
There is a 45 day guarantee ... if you don't like it can be returned. The calming effect has been truly amazing. My daughter's going to try one on her Goodle-doodle because she hides.
Reasons for using it include by not limited to: panting, shaking, drooling barking, whining, hiding, scratching, licking, bolting, elimination indoors, seizures, Thunder, Fireworks, separation anxiety, leash pulling, car and air travel and more.... according to the manufacturer.
Patti is very good in a car. Has never been car sick but I plan on using this when we travel long distances.
Just passing this along and would be interested if anyone else uses a Thunder Shirt.
