Is Your Dog Left or Right Pawed?

I just read an article about paw dominance in dogs - righty or lefty. Kind of interesting. I'm going to have to start observing Willow to see whether she is a righty or lefty. I know when we do an hi five she uses her right paw. Here's the link to the article: https://www.healthypawspetinsurance....s-no-raf-mar19

Right! But if he’s really excited he’ll do “paw” with his right and then throw in an extra with his left paw for good measure.

Mine does high 5 with right, too, but I’m not sure if maybe I trained it that way without realizing it.

Right-pawed. I started saying, "show me" when he barked after he first arrived, then holding out my hand (this makes no sense and serves no purpose, but now it's a habit). He reaches out with his right paw. It's also the first one he uses when I'm down low and he jumps up and accidentally pokes me in the eyes.

Does it count that when I hide treats in my hand he always goes for my left hand first (which would be his right side...) but I think he uses his left paw first ... but maybe that's just wishful thinking since I'm left handed and us lefties have to stick together

I found the part at the end of the article about "stranger-directed aggression" was interesting although they do state it's inconclusive. Are you lefites out there more aggressive than us righties?! Just wondering

Haha, my sister is a leftie. She had super sharp nails when we were kids. Not long, but on the thin side and very sharp. I used to completely ignore her sometimes when she wanted to play, pretend she wasn’t there, and she would grab my arm to get my attention. Then I would tattle about her sharp nails and say she was being mean so I wouldn’t have to play.

She may have been more aggressive, but I would definitely say I was the meanest

Good thing she forgave me, she’s my best friend now.
