Have to make a choice

I am facing a problem now, I have adopted a Havana. He lives in a dog bed now, but this is not a long-term solution. I want to buy him a dog house, but in the face of all kinds of dog houses on the market, I can't make the right choice. Welcome to give me advice.

What do you mean by dog house? Like the ones you keep outside?
Why can't he sleep on a dog bed?

Will hopefully get a havanese puppy in April/May EDIT: July?

Do you mean a dog house (sleeping outside) or dog crate (for inside/ you latch closed when they're inside it?)

My dog likes to live in a dog house. I used to provide him with a mattress in the dog house, which is very comfortable.
I recently collected some dog house information, check it, and you will know what dog house is.
I am still looking forward to your suggestion.
thank you very much.

Compared to the dog bed, my dog prefers to sleep in the dog house. The dog house is a house designed for dogs.

The dog houses look cute. I assume you mean for indoor use. You could also get a wired crate, put a mattress in it and throw a towel over it. This may give your dog the coziness he craves and you may have more mattress options.

What you said is very good, I will try it. Thank you so much for your suggestion.
Can you give me some more advice on how to choose a wired crate?

Walt, is there a pet store where you can go look at them? There are also hard sided crates. Some dogs like those but mine do not. I am afraid I do not know a particular brand to recommend. I have had mine a very long time. I got them at Petco. Others may have recommendations.

We use the metal crates from Walmart. As long as it collapses down easily for travelling/storage when not in use, and it has 2 locks on door it should be fine. I also like ones with 2 doors. Easier to train them to use, they can walk in and straight through to other side while getting used to it. Also, sometimes one door is more convenient to open than the other depending on where you put it. 2 doors allows for multiple placement choices. All my dogs have always preferred the metal crates over closed-in houses. I put a dog bed inside in tray for them to snuggle into and just wash all their bed linens when I was them.

Personally I prefer a hard side crate - less places for them to get caught in the wires, etc, but both work well, just personal preference.
