How do I remove scent of previous dog from home

My home has laminate wood floors with a few area rugs. What will do good job of cleaning and removing dog scent? Shampoo the area rugs?

Will Febreeze totally remove scent from fabric furniture? What about leather?

How long will dog scent stay around? Or should I not worry about that? I have had previous dogs (and cats) over the years but haven't brought in new puppy this soon after other dog gone. Usually waited several months.

Backyard? The almost daily rain washes the backyard thoroughly. When really pours and with hail, it gets "scrubbed."

I donít know, do you need to remove it if the smell isnít pee? My dog loves the smell of other dogs, it doesnít upset him, so i hadnít considered it before.
