Please advise

For those following ,Thanks for the complements, I do love my babies. It is really funny to watch them interact. Vana moves so differently than Drake and Izzy- almost as if her hind end moves seprate from the front as she fills in her legs seem shorter in the front than back. And yes I called it a prance because it is soooo different than the schnauzer gait- it looks like Vana throws her feet up it is really cute, again so different.
Few questions :
1. at what age is a Hav full grown? when do they teeth?
2. when do they start having heats? ( I think I see some spotting of course it's Sunday, so the Vet will have to wait till tomorrow, could this just her getting rehydrated and everything flowing?) Drake isn't interested at all so I know I at least have a few days! and we have wraps( his & hers) I am kinda concerned about getting her fixed when she isn't 100% do they have to put the girls under? Your thoughts?

I am new here and don't really know my way around, but Vana is a little girl that we found 2 wks ago and we are trying to determine her breed if you have ? please ask.

Thanks, Jenny

Jenny, Ruby had her first heat right after her first birthday in November. The teething, to the best of my recollection was about 5 months (ish). Full grown is hard to say since mine reached it at different times.

They do have that stance and walk that is bouncy, with the higher hind quarters. It's one of the first things that drew me to the breed when I saw a Havanese at Westminster. When I saw it bouncing around the ring to much audience reaction, I said "what is that?"

Just Milo and me, and . . . Bailey makes three . . . until Ruby said, "hey, what about me?"

Your vet will be able to give you a good guess about her age. The blood could be a heat, of course she may be spayed, if not you need to have the vet check to see if she is pregnant as she was out lose and if she was in heat at that time (they do not bleed the first few days) she was at risk and you have to worry the babies might be too big for her. Hopefully it is just a heat and she has been at your house long enough that no one could get near her. Now if in the morning you look outside and there are several male dogs milling around looking sweaty tongues hanging out, well she is in heat . I hope all goes well for your little fluff.

Jenny --

I wasn't able to open your facebook links. They took me directly to my Facebook homepage. Can you perhaps just post pictures here on HF?

Cheers!

I was able to open your albums on FB but not the videos - those said restricted access!
I loved the pictures, though, and your mini Schnauzers are adorable. I'm so happy you have now added Vana to your family and to ours!

I honestly think Vana is a Malti-Poo. I was at my neighbors last night and she has a Malti-Poo that looks exactly like your Vana. I Just showed Vana's pics to my 13 yr old, who is at the neighbors every day (it's her best friend)- and when she saw the pics she said to me "is that Koda?? That looks JUST like Koda"!!!
There is just something about Vana that doesn't quite look Havanese to me-
