I know there aren't a lot of Canadians on this forum but I have a gripe with our national club and have told them so. Below are the regulations to become a member... bear in mind there are exactly 2 members in my province and I know neither of them. My breeder won the first ever Canadian regional specialty and even she wouldn't qualify as a member. The rules seen so "old boys club" to me.
My complain is that the best of the best breeders should be listed members of a National breed club because potential purchasers should know about them. If any breeders here pretend they wanted to join would any qualify, I do not, meet only half of the requirements at best...a farce in my opinion to promote the breed. IMO the club lacks greatly in their mandate. Most every other breed has far less stipulations and way more membership. The reason I have my panties in a knot is that the club really has to make changes as selling the book Nose To Tail does nothing to promote the really good breeders. What's your take? I'm waiting to hear back from them.
