Anyone have a Hav from a Natural Rearing Breeder?

I was wondering if anyone has a Havanese from a natural rearing breeder and if so, what their experience has been with the breeder and dog. There are three natural rearing breeders of Havanese listed on nrbreedersassociation.org. They are wowhavanese.com, socutehavanese.com and chocolatesilkdogs.com. These are breeders who feed a raw species appropriate diet, do not vaccinate except where required by law, and use no chemicals in, on or around their dog.

Thank you.

A member of one of my NR groups has a puppy from So Cute in WI and is thrilled with the breeder and the pup.
The group is on MeWE, and her name is Krystal Beers.

Thanks so much! They sound awesome. If I ever get another puppy, I will try to get an NR pup.

I知 raising Bingo completely NR. I knew the people were having another litter (my son has Bingo痴 older sister) and I put my deposit on him at one week old. I brought over raw food for the whole litter when they started on solids, and convinced the owners that it was better to delay first vaccinations until 12wks. I brought Bingo home at 8 weeks, so I avoided that dilemma. That makes him a first generation naturally reared - it would be wonderful to find a pup from multiple generations of NR parents. Some people in the groups have over 25 years worth of NR in their chosen breeds!

My older dog, Mitzi, the MinPin, was vaxxed and wormed at the breeders (plus docked and cropped, one rabies shot and spayed) but since those early days - NR. She is over 9 years old and has been to the vet a total of 2 times in my care - for the rabies and the spay. Bingo has never seen a vet - he is almost 2 yrs. Both are the healthiest dogs I have ever owned, and I am a total advocate for the protocol.

Thank you for sharing. It is always good to hear NR success stories. I was not aware of NR until Mia was two. She has been NR since then and my yorkie since age 1. Mia is 11 and Bear is 10. Both are super healthy and have no allergies or digestive issues which seem to be common in many dogs. The only issue Mia has ever had was she tweaked her back several years ago. She has been fine since then. Neither come from superior genetic lines either.

the general ideas behind this are ok ,but I don't agree with no vaccinations protocol or following another persons recipes too closely.

I have experience with breeders who "natural rear", and one on that list is an close acquaintance. I would advise to run, not walk, away from any breeder that ascribes to the rules that organization has for its breeders. Vaccines save lives (and not just the ones required by law), and I have seen multiple dogs from different kennels dead or ill because of natural rearing.

I agree. There is a big difference between a thoughtful, considered, minimal vaccine protocol and no vaccines at all.
