My Play baby!

I am so in love with this breed! My little Hav has a 4th birthday coming up and she is my constant companion. Some of her play antics are so funny and new to me. I wonder if other Havs pick up things, even kibble, and snaps their necks to pitch things around. It is so comical until you are in bed and the pitch landed on the dresser or the window sill and your are all comfy in bed but are requested by little throaty noises to retrieve the treasure, only slide back in the sack and have another errant pitch! I just have to laugh at her. The rest of the time she uses her paws like a cat! Does anyone else out there own a Hav who is confused about their species? Play is her life mission. I swear my doggie smiles too! Piper's mom, Dana N

I know exactly what you mean about throwing her neck back to toss her toy up in the air! She has a certain toy that she just loves doing that to. Its amazing how far up in the air she can get it and sometimes it lands in some crazy places! My husband is always thinking she is going to fling it one day and put it right through the tv screen! LOL ( I don't think the toy is heavy enough to break it tho LOL)

Yogi flings thing too! It is so comical, we alway applaud her and cheer "Good throw!" She has never hit anything with her throws, and I never thought of the TV! That certainly gives me pause....Yikes, that would be sooooo not cool!

Mine both throw things and make noises. Nose bumping if I don't respond. Yogi uses his paws like hands. Play, play and more play, yup it's a dogs life.

Poohkey miss you, monkey.

Yes, that's how Abby plays with all of her toys! Most are small and soft but I do worry that the Pearly White Bone is going to hit the TV one of these days! She's come pretty close to pitching a toy in the fireplace, too! We use a yardstick to retrieve toys that go under the entertainment center so she gets really excited when we get it out of the pantry! Last night she threw a pipsqueak up on the table next to my dad and he laughed! Never a dull moment around here!

I have laughed at all the silly things your little furry friends do too! As I think about getting my second Hav baby, it's nice to know that another character is a given!

Piper pitches everything! I have dings on on dresser because of her pitches! After she plays with at toy for months and months, she will strip it of parts one day for no reason. No kidding, extra tails, extra feet are her greatest pleasure as though she made a new toy and she will play with the parts with high delight for many days. My favorite is her collection of spare tails which she runs around with them sticking out of her mouth like she was smoking a pipe! If I move the parts to the basket, she will climb into the basket, head first, to retrieve them! I have learned to place eyeballs and noses in a tall basket with a lid but I have to do it on the sly because then she lays by the basket for a while watching it. Amazing little clowns, aren't they? Panda pitches things too. One day she threw her duck up in the air, it came down and hit her....she jumped and then barked and barked at it....she is so silly!

Stella does the same thing! She chews a little, tiny piece of her blanket off and then spends the afternoon flinging it around the house and chasing it. So funny!

Lizzie does that, too. As does one of my cats with critters outside. It is weird how catlike this breed is. She loves to sleep on the back of the couch. She took over one of the cat's spots-the cat moved over a cushion.
