Any tips for having a Christmas tree with a 1 year old

Hi All- It has been over a decade since I had a 1 yr old Hav at Christmas time. This weekend we are getting our tree and I can already imagine it being an endless source of entertainment to my pup. Aside from the obvious safety precautions of using ribbon insted of hooks for ornaments, are there any other suggestons to limit my pup's attraction to the branches and ornaments?

Don’t put ornaments too low on the tree where the pup can reach them. If all else fails, put an expen around the tree to keep the dog away.
Molly used to go up to the ornaments and tap them with her nose. Occasionally one would fall off but she left things alone for the most part. I have also used a smaller tree put up on a table. Good luck!

Xpen around the tree is our plan as well. Lol. Denver is too much into the “chew everything I can get my teeth on” teenager phase to risk it otherwise.

We actually do sort of a table top tree nowadays... it is on a low coffee table, and about 4’ tall. But it is just because WE wanted a smaller tree to decorate, not because of the dogs!

It is an artificial tree and I didn't put ornaments on lower portion to be safe

Ours is artificial so that might make a difference. He tried to play with it and eat it as we were putting it up but once it was set up we just redirected him a few times and it was fine. He really didn’t try for the ornaments but I do like to tuck them in a bit and there aren’t many that hang below the lower branches.

I had more trouble with a centerpiece I put together for my table last year. It had a few pine cones and little wood slices in it and “somehow” pieces kept migrating to the floor (my kids). Pine cones and wood slices are like the puppy equivalent to catnip for our Havanese. I didn’t bother putting it out this year.
