Funny falling asleep habits

Oliver has two comfort type things he does before he falls asleep. One is this very sweet cuddling up to you and nibbling your clothes very very gently (like nibbling tiny pieces of corn, lol). It’s definitely affection vs the sock chewing he does in play. I wonder if mama dogs do something like this to their puppies? If a human is not available he’ll do this to a pillow or blanket. He used to dig around my bed to get comfortable but not anymore.

He’ll be one on New Years Eve and his resource guarding of me has gotten much better. We are also practicing WAY more socialization with both unfamiliar people and animals. He’s fine with that but still barks at the doorbell. It’s a work in progress. Though he still follows me everywhere and if locked out, falls asleep outside the door. Much like a toddler. 😆

I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and he followed me. My husband snapped the picture. It’s a nightly occurrence! Lol Here he is a different day.

Lani, our white parti, sleeps on top of the sofa. First she stretches out, then starts sliding down the cushion. It takes her about 5 minutes, but the ends up sleeping on the sofa seat.

I have trained Ricky to bark when someone rings the doorbell or even just knocks or if he sees a stranger in our back yard (gardener). Momi is severely hearing impaired and she can't hear a doorbell or a knock. Ricky will run to her barking and will herd her to the front door. Once she takes charge and answers the door, he stops barking. In his mind, "all is well and under control." Other than that, Ricky rarely barks, Technically, Ricky qualifies as a service dog.

Cute! Thanks for sharing the stories and the photos! I have never heard of nibbling like that ... (Shama is enthusiastically chewing on a beef tendon as I type. She's not about to fall asleep ...)
