CKC registration delays - Sept 2019-March 2020

This is a formal notice from the Canadian Kennel Club about registrations pending and those in the next few months. Theyíve had some major issues with their database and are trying to get them resolved as well as registering new puppies. There are significant delays in registration.

Itís just that the registration papers are delayed, so getting a puppy isnít a problem, showing them is. My breeder is showing Denverís sister in February and has to pay a special fee because her registration isnít done yet.

It also sounds like current registrations also got muddled up, so itís... going to be a rough showing season.

Thatís what I mean. But I woukd think that getting a puppy out of the country without proper papers might be a problem if you were from the US buying a Canadian puppy. And I KNOW you canít register a Canadian puppy with AKC without their Canadian papers, and I donít think we have any method of handling showing a puppy whose papers are held up by a foreign registry. If we do, I bet itís really complicated.

I have a friend who is a US breederand has a Canadian breeder partner. iíll ask her what they are doing!

Hmm, I didnít think registration papers would be necessary considering how many mix-breeds are sold back and forth! Iíve never done it, so didnít know they were necessary

As for AKC registering, yeah, that would cause a delay there. We were thinking of registering Denver in the AKC but Canada decided to allow trick dog titles so I donít need to anymore. Which Iím glad for since it looked like it wasnít much fun.
