Jumping Jessie

Jessie still jumps on everyone she meets and continues to jump over and over. If they give her attention, she continues to jump. If I tell her “off” and the individual ignores her, even turns her back....she still continues to jump. I thought by this time (1yr 1/2) with the repeated “off” command, pulling her away etc, she realize she’ll get more positive attention if she refrains from jumping. I’m at my wits end....please, any suggestions!!!!

At 6 y.o., Ricky will still stand on his hind legs and put his front paws on guest's thigh, until they pick him up. And then he wants to be put down immediately and will move on to the next guest to repeat the routine.

How do I prevent that from happening? I will pick him up while the guests enter and I require he stays in my arms until he calms down. I don't say anything to him, positive or negative, no matter how much he squirms in my arms.

Yup Either do what Ricky's Popi suggested or put her behind a gate or in an expen until she settles down. Greetings are exciting and many dogs NEVER get to the point that they can "think" through that level of excitement. (called being "over threshhold) So it is up to the humans to manage the situation so they can't practice the behavior we find objectionable.
