Vick Indictment

I heard about the Criminal Indictment for Michael Vick on the News down there in Virginia. He allegedly participated in the killing of dogs after they lost fights in the ring. Electrocution, shootings and hangings I heard. Himself and a host of other people. It's pretty saddening and sick to say the least.

I hope that if he's guilty the NFL suspends him. As it stands I think he already has lost a small fortune in endorsements.

I agree.

I live in Hampton Roads (where Vick lives, a few towns over) and it has been all over the news here for weeks. PETA's headquarters are in the town between Vick and me, and they are really keeping it in the local news.

It is probably the cruelest thing I've ever heard regarding animals. I know that so many people are SO angry at him right now, I'm sure he is getting scowls and comments when seen around town.

I've actually seen him a few times, but not since the incident. He hangs out in Virginia Beach often.

AND......I even toured his "mega mansion" when it was first built. It was part of a "Home-a-rama" (where you tour new houses for ideas, etc) And that man surely did NOT need any money. Making money off cruelty to dogs is despicable!

According to local rumor.......they even wore T-shirts and hats to symbolize the dog fighting gang.

Sickening.

What took them so long. If you or I did something like that, we would have been in jail from day one.

People do all sorts of terrible, unthinkable things to animals. This week they found a dog (it looked like a pit) tied to a pole that was set on fire and left for dead. They treated it at an emergency vet hospital, but it died two days later. Everyone fell in love with the dog, because as sick and in pain as it was, it would lick everyone. I hope they catch the people who did this.

From what I understand, they were *waiting* to compile evidence in order to press FEDERAL charges. He could have easily been convicted locally, but if they did that...then the Feds couldn't prosecute.

Which is actually a REALLY GOOD THING. Because he will face a higher punishment in federal court.

Since there was some trafficking of dogs over state lines, federal prosecution is the way to go, since he purchased dogs in several states.

Granted, he may land in a posh prison like Martha (Let's hope not!) But he will most likely be there for a longer term and have to pay a bigger fine.

Personally, I hope they take ALL his cash and he loses his job. I'm just waiting to see what the Falcons do.

A friend of mine just sent me this link. If you click it, it takes you to a website where you can sign a petition to try to have him suspended from the NFL. I can't believe his isn't suspended yet! Here is the link. https://community.hsus.org/campaign/...=-d28qms1Nbs8W

Well, I just hope he gets what's comin' to him!!! Those poor dogs. My son-in-law said they showed clips of videos of the dog fights that Vick ran. I can't watch them...they make me sick.

As if football is not violent enough he has to prey on defenseless animals . I hope everyone on this site sends a message to the NfL .
WE need to send a message this is intolerable and it is not acceptable/? what a message to send to our youth . Become a football star and in your spare time you can torture and exploit defenseleess animals
No way could I watch those tapes .
Hopefully he does not pay a fine and then get off with a warning .
People who do things like this without a conscience have the potential for doing much worse.. next time it might be a human he beats and abuses ..

As a person who has a special place in her heart for pittbulls this whole situation makes me sick!!!! I just don't understand why he is not in jail, the news said that he will be turning himself in this week and then will post bail and then be right back on the streets. This might not have been against a person but who is to say that he won't turn on a person. Dogs are so innosint (sp) how do you abuse them? Pitts in general are not evil dogs, that has to be brought out in them!!! Not everyone needs to own a pitt. I can't imagine Brutus in a fighting ring. He might be able to stand up for himself against a dog that does not fight for a living but against a trained fighter, he would have his rear handed to him. I do know that there is a special place for people to abuse animals. I will say that the dogs that they rescued alive will have a better death than the dogs that lost thoes fights. They got the privilidge of dying by gun, electricity, water or rope. How awful, god bless thoes dogs and god help the people who hurt them, they have to be VERY sick people!!!

This story made me ill reading it. I just don't know what has to happen to a person for them to do horrible things to animals... I hope justice happens to him! I am glad the story has received so much media attention so he is less likely to not be sentenced.

Just wanted you to know I signed the petition .
Please tell your friends and family about it . He deserves more than a slap on the wrist and a fine . We cannot look the other way ..
This animals have no voice so we must speak for them ..
