ANYONE?? ..Hello

Few questions about behavior traits...

Vana loves to stand on her hind legs and ride Drake and Izzy, she also peels out (looks like she is trying to do the moonwalk) it is very cute..is this Havish behavior?

the girl can jump!!!! like the dogs you see on commercials that are bouncing up and down,

the vocals she makes are very different- sounds as if she is trying to talk
she also sneezes when excited and makes her hair puff up

her tail that once was down between her legs is feathered above her back

? about the leg structure- are they different from other breeds? shape or movement?

Vana is off her cycle now and I am making progress with the grooming- thanks to all of you oh when bathing I found a black hair on her side I thought it was one of Drake's but it is attached?

I also found a dna test that test for cotons and Havanese- as well as others, I will be ordering it when I get my refund $ from the Feds lol....
I heard of a Sacramento play date- Lodi is about 45 minutes away- but didn't know if it was open to other breeds- Drake and Izzy want to play 2

Hope you all have a great day! Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I can address a few of your questions just from my own experience. Vanna may be displaying dominant behavior or she's just trying to start a game of wrestle when she's riding her pals. My dogs will instigate a game of wrestle this way.

Yes, Havs RLH (run like he - -), they peel out and have a lot of exuberance when running.

One of my dogs jumps like he has springs on his feet aka Tigger.

Havs are very chatty and will express different sounds for different situations. Not sure about the sneezing and hair standing up. Does she sneeze often?

One of my dogs holds her tail curled up tight on her back the other holds his tail lower and looser. You might go to the AKC breed specifications to answer your questions about conformation.

Of course your Bichon/Havanese or mystery mix could join the Sacramento play date, I would suggest you go to that thread and post that you're interested. When something gets coordinated, it will be easy to contact you that way. You will not be asked to show DNA results Well try a big group gathering when the weather improves.

I can add, that my boys sneeze "huff" when they want attention. this is how they make demands.

haha yeah like Tiger Yes she is playing when she rides them, no she only sneezes when excited or to get attention, just once- almost does it on command now- I pretend sneeze then she does. Play group I was wondering if Drake and Izzy schnauzer were invited, not just my mystery mix I am going to be doing a dna test on Vana soon, I found one that test for Hav and Cotons and anything else so we will know for sure. Folsom your pretty close- I grew up in Sac.

Ours not only RLH but also JLH [jump like he..] Nellie talks, she kind of grunts, and yes she humps the cats.Dizzie is an expert at walking on his hind legs,Nellie does it too, but can't go anything like as far as Dizzie, both hold their tails up in a plum over their backs, except when they are frightened, then it tucks up between their legs.Dizzie is very easy to teach tricks to,he is very calm and learns fast, Nellie is more excitable, so takes more patience to train, but she is very bright at figuring things out for herself, she knows every trick to get our attention, and like a lot of the others on here she rings the bell to go outside[well actually she bashes the cat flap] Dizzie just stands behind her.

quote "her tail that once was down between her legs is feathered above her back". Was this common occurence, because that is usually a sign of stress. ?

Dave- Vana is the one that was rescued on the highway 6 weeks ago today So yes she was stressed and the 1st time that little tail wagged it melted my heart, but now even in no excited state her tail is held high. It is amazing how much she has improved.
