Both of my dogs love being out in the rain as long as it is not storming or a super torrential down pour. However, heavy rain is okay with them. My yorkie walked over a mile this morning in the pouring rain and he was soaked to the skin. He would have gone farther except mom looked like a drowned rat and wanted to go home. Supposedly yorkies do not like dampness...right. Mia has super thick hair. I don’t think she even knows she is wet. Just curious what other dogs do or if mine are just abnormal!
Mine loves the rain, too! He loves walking in snow but hates going potty in it. Wind is a distraction. He also loves to walk in puddles and seems to look for them.
My Yorkie hates rain. My Bichon didn't mind the rain. I can't wait to learn what my new pup will prefer. I can't wait for these months to fly by. I am looking forward to Fall.
Ricky hates rain! :smow: He tilts his head back and tries to bite each drop. When we take him out in the rain to our back yard to eliminate, we have to hold an umbrella over him (the little prince) otherwise he refuses to go outside!
Haha, that's great! I have always wanted an excuse to get an umbrella like this, it sounds like you have one
I mean, I can't think of any umbrella better than a print with dogs holding umbrellas for other dogs. It just makes me smile, and it makes DD laugh at what a nerd I am. Too bad it rarely rains here!
Although, I grew up in Oregon and never used an umbrella. It was grunge era nineties and it was way more cool to suffer, even if you had an umbrella in your backpack.
My Honey liked playing the snow but not to go for a walk and go potty - she hated the rain too and would try to avoid puddles. She was such a princess. if her paw got dirty she would raise her leg and look at me like - clean me mommy I'm dirty LOL such a diva
You are so lucky. Mia is a Tom boy and loves to dig. Keeping her clean is a nightmare!!! It is wet and rainy here quite often and the feet are sopping wet or muddy constantly so having long super furry paws and legs can be challenge. That is why I usually go shorter except in winter.
Denver hates the rain and will beeline under a chair or table to do his business. When walking we have to lift him over any gutters, etc lest he get his little paws wet. Such a princess he is.
Keeper is the opposite. He loves rain. Loves snow. Loves playing in the sprinkler, Playing in the rain, etc.
My princess will not go out in the rain nor will she go out if the ground is too wet. We have tried holding a large golf umbrella over her, putting a rain jacket on her, and offering delicious treats. She looks offended every time we try to get her to walk in the rain.
Thank goodness she has her litterbox as a backup option!

Mine will go out to potty in the rain, but only if we TELL them to... pretty firmly. Then they stop on the edge of the deck, and we have to firmly say, "off the deck!" Then they will go down into the yard. LOL!
