Anyone up for a good deed? Havanese temporary home needed in NY

Just came across this while wasting time on the internet, LOL. Owner is in the hospital and a good home is needed for a havanese during that time.

Oh, and one more...this is an owner looking to rehome her dog. The dog sounds GREAT, I think this is truly a situation of the owner doing the right thing. Happens to also be in New York, not sure why it's posted in the LA Craigslist

The second one lives in Santa Monica.

Doesn't it seem odd that the person trying to place the dog temporarily is not the one who owns her?

I hate to be negative but I am in the car business and I see this a lot on Craigslist in the car section. They will ask you to pay shipping up front, probably by western union. I might be wrong and my cynical side is just coming out but if you respond to this please be careful and don't let someone use your good heart to cheat you.

Duh, I didn't see that note at the bottom of the post...I did send her an email and referred to the forum etc., so we'll see if she shows up here.
I know Craigslist is loaded with fraudsters, so I am always super aware of crooks. On the other hand there are lots of positive transactions happening on there, too, so you just have to keep an open mind and at the same time doublecheck everything!
Since the person is asking for a home visit etc, there shouldn't be any shipping involved at least.

Well, if the story is true and the owner IS in the hospital, doesn't have a lot of dog friendly friends and is maybe not computer savy in the first place, it would make sense for someone else to look. If one of my friends was in the hospital, I would do that for her in a heartbeat.

My fear is that someone might be doing this and saying it's for someone in the hospital. How would anyone know whether that's true? I guess I'm cynical too. Something just doesn't sit right.
