I know Derek posted a thread on wood chewing--- but I thought this deserved it's own thread. As you know both my boys have done some damage to bottom of doors and some furniture... I have been very diligent with the bitter apple and thought I had trained them out of this behavior---
Yesterday, I come home from a doctors appointment (only gone for 2 hrs) and cash is on his chair chewing a stick---"where did that stick come from" says missy "hmmm it looks too smooth to be from outside"
On inspection, Cash (we assume) has been sitting under these wicker chairs we keep in the sun room and chewing the support beams in the chairs (jasper doesn't sit under low things)
This was an inch thick dowel he completely chewed off on both sides..... how long has he been working on this????
We love these chairs! and they don't fit anywhere else in the house. I just turned them over and doused them with bitter apple. luckily it is underneath (sly little boy) so we can just re-support it.
I seem to remember 8-12 months being the friskiest.... but Cash is a real chewer I hope my house survives...
do you think I can give him a piece of 2 X 4 to chew on?
