Fresh food delivery services

So, I ordered a puppy recipe for Roxie from Nom Noms because I got 50% off the first month. I am currently mixing with the breeder's kibble (just started the beef transition recipe with her and I swear it doesn't even smell like dog food. I give Oliver another human grade food and it still smells gross). I am really loving it so far though it's expensive. I'll probably add Oliver to next month's. Smaller dogs are less cost prohibitive, I think.

(BTW I know it's possible to make your own, but I'm afraid of getting it right and don't really have time. I'm not interested in doing raw so I hope this post isn't controversial. Just sharing a middle of the road option for people who might want to stick with a fairly conventional diet yet still give their dogs whole foods. you can do grain inclusive or grain free)

I would LOVE to be able to use one of these. Unfortunately EVERY.SINGLE.ONE of them contains fish oil, and Kodi is allergic to fish.

Oh geeez Karen, I’m sorry. It’s so hard. It’s like trying to find stuff without nuts when you have a nut allergy!

Actually, itís MUCH harder. I DO have a tree nut allergy, and that is MOSTLY desserts and breads I need to watch. With this fish and dairy thing with Kodi, it is every single thing he puts in his mouth. There is either fish oil or dairy (in the form of whey) in almost every dog product it seems! Thatís why we stick to Natureís Variety Limited Ingredient. Itís one of the FEW that has neither.

Dairy is tough too. My kid had a dairy allergy he grew out of. But whey is in almost everything.

Allergy sufferers and owners of dogs who suffer from allergies have my sympathy! DH is allergic to shellfish, dogs (except Havanese), horses, cats, and probably other animals. Other than that, no allergies here ...

We use Nom Nom for Ollie and he loves it! The company has been fantastic with questions, adjusting portion sizes, shipping to different addresses etc. We just feel good about the quality.

I love the way they measure the portions. I’m adding Oliver next month.

Yes very convenient once you lock in the right portion size. They'll estimate it at first based on weight, breed etc and then you'll figure it out. We just take the plastic pouch out of the fridge and drop it in a cup of warm water to warm it up. Again Ol LOVES it.
