I didnít get to see either of my daughters this year. One lives in Baltimore and the other is a nurse practitioner so it wasnít safe or possible to see them. Weird for sure!

I love all health care professionals particularly NP's, I know a couple quite well. They are life savers for sure!

Ricky has Jodieís sympathy, she is soooo boooored! There are 8 dogs just in Edís family and she prefers to speed around with the huskies. Edís Dad is 94, there are 3 nurses in his family and our grandniece is 10 days old so we had dinner here for 3. Weíre trying to watch a movie and Jodie is talk, talk, talking! We want everyone safe but it definitely feels weird.

Flo hopes all her American cousins had a happy & healthy Thanksgiving, even if was quieter and a little strange.

Flo (and her older human sister) are a little disappointed that Christmas will be Ďboringí this year. Mummy thinks it will be Ďrelaxingí Mummy also knows this will depend on how Ďboredí Flo (and 11 year old human sister) are

We were able to have a FEW people... our "pod"... my son Robbie, his wife, Minerva 2 year old daughter Astrida, and my 92 year old step mom. We socially isolate as a group. My other son, Timothy, works with kids, so he, unfortunately, could not be included, but stopped by for a quick, masked "hello" and to pick up a quick, (BIG) doggie bag dinner to take home for him and his roommate.

The smallest turkey I've ever cooked! Almost like cooking a chicken!

I grew up in a different state from our extended family and big Thanksgiving dinners were only every few years and were special. I think itís great that itís so much easier to travel and be together now, but it doesnít seem so crazy to have a quiet holiday once in a while. We are so fortunate to have many ways to connect digitally. I know itís not the same, but Iím thankful anyway.

DS had surgery this week, and it really couldnít wait any longer so he was in the hospital for Thanksgiving. We still had a nice day, but definitely weird. DH and DD had a daddy-daughter no-limits shopping and cooking adventure. Being there on Thanksgiving reminded me how much we have to be thankful for.

I still canít wait for this year to be over. Or to wake up. Either way.

A really positive message I hope your son recovers quickly and is back home with you soon. X
