TT Addition

I had started a thread a while ago asking for advice about adding another dog as a friend for shy Nala. At the time I was looking into a Tibetean Terrier Mix Rescue. I really took my time to consider the logistics and by the time I made up my mind he had been adopted. I was disappointed and it made me realize we really are ready to add another dog. I have been looking at other dogs and we are getting a 1 year old male Tibetean Terrier. I think of myself as a Havanese person but we were interested in a slightly bigger dog and I think TT's look a lot like a taller Havanese!

We found a very respected breeder and our new dog is coming on a Petsafe Continental flight tomorrow! He was a little too big for me to fly with him and because of distance this was the most practical way to get him here.(The breeder has used this flight service before-of course I am still excited/nervous!) I hope Nala likes him and is happy.

We will be very gradual in the introduction and we are going to take them both out to the park and for a walk before going home. She is used to the dogs that I dogsit so I think it should be okay.

Congratulations! We have a 1 yr. old TT in the neighborhood named Oliver. He loves balls, frisbees and Ditto and Phoenix. They have so much fun running and chasing each other. TT are great dogs. I'm sure Nayla will love having a playmate. Have you decided on a name?

I love Tibetan terriers,we used to have three!one was a rescue. They were great friends and loved to play, they were also good with children, our three sons were young when we got our first puppy. The last one past away five and a half years ago, and we said we wouldn't have any more dogs, well that didn't last very long,18 months later, our first kitten arrived swiftly followed by another, then 6 months later two more arrived!Anyway a couple of years later I decided I would love another dog, and my brother in law who had been working in America, showed us some picks of his friends Havanes, and I thought a Havanese would be ideal as they are smaller and hopefully would get on with the cats.As luck would have it the breeder where we had got our last TT from also now breeds Havs so everything worked out fine. Our Tibetans needed less exercise than our Havs, well less formal walks but more play, they loved to rough and tumble about the place. What colour is the one you are getting? Some of them can be quite stubborn and crafty! Can't wait to see pics.

Congratulations on your new addition. I look forward to photos of your new little guy. My experience with Continental was wonderful. I'll check back later for updates.

Congratulations Annie! I agree, I think TTs look like tall Havanese.

Can't wait to see pictures of your new boy.
