Anyone have any thoughts on how to administer ear drops for an ear infection? My hav Gizmo hates this and wrestles to get away, makin it very difficult todo it safely.

At my house, it is a two person job. Do you have someone that can hold your dog while you put the drops in?

How about wrapping in Gizmo in a towel, sort of like how babies are swaddled, and lying him on a soft surface on each side?

I believe we had to wrap Augie in a towel as well when he was a pup. They are incredibly strong! I am not sure we could hold him these days or not if I was trying to put something down his ears.

what does your dog do to evade the drops? all my dogs (over 100 lbs and my little guy), do the same thing, they face you, and won't let you turn their head, one way or the other. so what I do, is just feel for the little tab of the opening of the ear, and then place the ear dropper in... it's worked for me so far.

When I lay him down as soon as he sees the drop he jerks his head up, which is what makes it hard cause I dont want him to jam the dropper down his ear

so all my dogs, sit, facing me, lookin me in the eyes. then I look first, put my thumb or finger on the 'tab' of the opening of the ear, and then I put the drops in. and I massage the canal a little. I haven't ever been able to lay of my dogs (big or small) down for ear drops.

takes a little practice but once you get it down it works great.
